Be Careful What You Wish For

Louisa May Alcott was with her dying father in 1888 when he said "I am going up, come with me."  Alcott replied "Oh, I wish I could." and died two days after him.

    I had never heard that story. I guess be careful what you wish for exactly describes this to a T! Remind me not to say anything like that!
