dyad
dyad dy·ad [dahy-ad] noun
1. a group of two; couple; pair
2. Biology:
a. a secondary morphological unit, consisting of two monads: a chromosome dyad
b. the double chromosomes resulting from the separation of the four chromatids of a tetrad
3. Chemistry: an element, atom, or group having a valence of two.
4. Mathematics: two vectors with no symbol connecting them, usually considered as an operator
5. Sociology:
a. two persons involved in an ongoing relationship or interaction
b. the relationship or interaction itself
I knew this word, even though it's not part of my every day vocabulary. I had to take an Interpersonal Communication class when I went back to school and I sat down at the first class thinking it was going to be a waste of time, but I changed my mind. I learned a dyad is, as the #5 definition says, the basic form of communication, being between two people.
I think the most important thing I learned about was how people play games and how nearly all of them are dishonest in nature. I wound up enjoying the class and learning a lot about communicating with others and even more about myself. The worst part was when we studied those games, this tune was in my head for a week.

Only Time - Enya
A 'bump" for Saint Patrick's Day; I started to post some other Irish-associated video, such as Riverdance or the Irish Rovers, but I love Enya's music and why waste a perfectly good - even if old - post. Yet again, I had to change the embed code that I had changed 5/8/12...hope this one stays up for a while.
Original post: May 14,2008. Saw that the video had been removed, so I found another. One of my favorite songs, one of the loveliest.

Harp Twins
At first I thought it might be a Harry Potter parody that appeared on my YouTube recommendations, a video of Hedwig's Theme done on harps...by twins, no less. I watched it and even though it was obvious it wasn't an expensive, professionally done production, it still was entertaining. (even if you're not a fan of the harp, what's not to like about the HP theme...and two pretty young girls? Well, I guess if you hate HP and are female yourself....)
I checked out their channel - Camille and Kennerly - and subscribed, mostly because of this video. I've seen all kinds of covers of their music, but I've NEVER seen an AC/DC tune done on harps.
Like that? Check out their rendition of Don't Fear The Reaper. That song fits the harps a little better than Highway to Hell, JMO....although Sweet Child O' Mine is pretty darn good, too. They not only do covers of rock classics, they also did a great job on Scarborough Fair and Ghost Riders In The Sky, showing that harps can sound good in any genre of music.

Anniversary of the British Invasion
It officially began at 8 pm on Sunday 9th February, 1964 when the live broadcast of the first Ed Sullivan Show was aired with the full Beatles line-up. The band played five songs (All My Loving, Till There Was You, She Loves You, I Saw Her Standing There and I Want To Hold Your Hand) and made broadcasting history.
Just a snippet of the first show, but someone on YouTube has made all three Ed Sullivan shows with the Beatles available in a single video.

Day After Day - Badfinger
From Wiki: The song was written and sung by Pete Ham and produced by George Harrison, who plays some of the slide guitar parts of the song along with Ham. The record also features Leon Russell on piano. As the song was unfinished at the time Harrison left the Badfinger album to produce the Concert for Bangladesh, the final mix was done by Todd Rundgren, who took over Straight Up after Harrison's departure.
Released as a single in the US in November 1971 (January 1972 elsewhere), it would become the group's highest charting single there, peaking at number 4 on the Billboard Pop Singles chart. It also peaked at number 10 on the UK Singles Chart in January 1972. It remains the band's best-known song, most notably for the slide guitar solos. It went Gold in March 1972, becoming the band's first and only gold single. "Day After Day" reached number 10 on Billboard's Easy Listening survey.
Because of all of the overdubs, Badfinger was hesitant to play this song live for years, since it was impossible for a four-piece group to reproduce the single production. However, the song was included in the setlist for Badfinger's 1974 tour.

Movies Made From SNL Skits
The first Hollywood movie made from a Saturday Night Live skit was The Blues Brothers (1980). Others followed: Wayne's World (1982), Wayne's World 2 (1993), Coneheads (1993), It's Pat (1994), Stuart Saves His Family (1995), A Night at the Roxbury (1998), Blues Brothers 2000 (1998), Superstar (1999), The Ladies Man (2000) and MacGruber (2010).
They should have stopped after The Blues Brothers.
Bad news: A Night at the Roxbury 2 is in the works, as well as a Waynes World 3
