  Sidney Poitier Becomes the First African American to Win Best Actor Oscar (1964)The first African American to achieve leading man status in Hollywood, Poitier began acting with the American Negro Theatre in New York City and made his film debut soon after. He won acclaim on Broadway for his role in 1959's A Raisin in the Sun and, in 1964, became the first African American to win the Academy Award for Best Actor, for his role in Lilies of the Field. Nice one I like it , wow Im wondering how many years ago this was Top of the Pops , just going to find it on Wiki.
I posted this nearly a year ago, noticed a hit on it and checked it out and the YouTube link was no longer valid, so I found this version. The original one had them in a live performance, fairly good video/audio quality.
I like these with album covers and publicity photos in a slideshow, better than just the audio.
I have this tune on my mp3 jukebox and I believe the year it came out was 1969. I've always liked it, it's sure in my top several hundred songs of all time.
