Roosevelt Forbids Hoarding of Gold (1933)Executive Order 6102 required US citizens and businesses to turn in all but a small amount of gold to the Federal Reserve in exchange for $20.67 per ounce. It came in the midst of a banking crisis, when the stability of paper currency was in doubt. Consequently, many tried to withdraw their money and redeem it for gold, which was considered safer. I'm an old softie and that makes me tear up a little. Can't remember if it's in the vid, but Skidboot passed away a couple of yrs. ago.

I love dogs; I only have an old cat that's pretty much worthless, but I still love 'im. I really like big dogs but town is no place for large animals because they need a place to run.
I read a Top 10 list of smartest dogs the other day and was surprised to see that poodles are among the most intelligent canines.
