Rock on Roger and the Who , they are up there in my top ten groups of all time .
Yup, I'd have to say the same thing.
Right before my dad passed away, I was over at his house watching TV with him. Some car advert came on and it was using the opening riff of Baba O'Reilly...you know, the "monotonous" opening of the (I think) organ "trill".
I've always loved that song, esp. when I was a boy, it spoke to me, the rebellion, the lower-class protest and I was sitting there nodding my head in time to the music, not really realizing what I was doing.
My dad was looking at me and said "You like that shit?" I had to laugh, and tried to explain to him about the song, just as I did above, but he wasn't havin' none of it. LOL I used the word "monotonous" above because that's the word HE used.
Yes, I love The Who, too...reminds me of my younger days, roaring along on the deserted country roads, The Who, CCR, The Beatles, etc. blaring from my stereo speakers. I thought the world was complex, but little did I know I then didn't have a care in the world compared to the worries I have now.
Just reminds me of good times, that's all.
Thanks for posting!
