![]() UNIVAC Computer Delivered to the US Census Bureau (1951)By 1870, the US population was so large that hand-counting the census was no longer feasible. Despite the invention of a counting machine, by the time the 1880 census was tabulated, it was almost 1890. you're actually having summer this year? Summer's been canceled up here and they gave us Seattle's weather instead.
We'll I should watch my mouth, it's actually sunny today, I don't want to jinx it,
Was hot and dry all day; outside felt like a blast furnace.
The Beej has been staying outside since the weather got hot and doesn't want to come in, preferring to be fed outside. I try to keep him fresh water at all times, but the bugs and ants get into it and then he won't touch it. (yet I've seen him drink out of a mud puddle, go figger)
I made him come in today and eat all he would, got him some cool fresh water and he ate fairly good and drank some water, then I got him some cold milk and he took a few laps of it and I swear, he looked up at me with a smile and appreciation in his eyes.
Made me wanna go buy him some ice cream, bless him.
He's getting old and a little raggedy looking. I try my best to take care of him, but being an outside cat (mostly) takes years off of a cat's life. He WANTS to be outside, though, and I can tell he loves it, because he always acts like he can't wait to get back out, like he's going to miss something.
