Roosevelt Forbids Hoarding of Gold (1933)Executive Order 6102 required US citizens and businesses to turn in all but a small amount of gold to the Federal Reserve in exchange for $20.67 per ounce. It came in the midst of a banking crisis, when the stability of paper currency was in doubt. Consequently, many tried to withdraw their money and redeem it for gold, which was considered safer. I saw this on the news last night. All I could think about was that little pair of pliers that Dad kept in his pocket and "helped" us part with a few teeth each. I think he even used it on Gary and Brad. Wonder how sanitary that thing was?
My first reaction was "ewwwwwwwww" and my second was "I wonder how fast that rocket was going when it took off because that was a lot of string and that tooth came out darn quick!"
The kid's expressions were priceless.
Seems like a problem with connecting to YT tonight for me , will try agian tomorrow as this sure looks like my kind of vid, one of those you dont like to look at but still play it over and over.
