I remember Alice Cooper when I was young but never gave him much attention , just always thought of how he would have been at home in one of the horror movies , and yes I suppose that was his gimmick , I went to read about him a little on Wiki and read he is a born again christian , he sounds like he is a very amiable person off stage, still going strong in the entertainment business and is in the Hall of Fame ,maybe he should be Elected , sure is more liked then P.Obama .
He was a favorite of mine when I was a young man in school - he was just getting really popular about the time I was a senior in h.s. I used to listen to "Under My Wheels" while driving fast to school, and "Schools Out" came out just about when I was graduating.
It wasn't just the music, but also that he had a "shock value", a counter-culture, sort of outrageous like Elton John. (another favorite at that time, still is)
I sometimes catch Cooper's radio show Nights with Alice Cooper on my truck radio where he plays songs from that era, really good. I need to see if it's online so I can listen to it regularly.
I was glad to hear he was a Christian, proving to me that rock 'n roll doesn't necessarily have to be "the Devil's music" and also that, even though he's not outspoken about his politics, that he's basically conservative.
Thanks for posting!
