I still think of it as a pound sign or a place to play tic tac toe. I guess that makes me old?
There was some more trivia I should have included, namely how it came to be used on push button telephone dials, but I didn't. Guess I could always edit the post.
I hear it being used in movies and TV here lately, always in a silly way "Hash tag 'got my ass in trouble'", like that.
