![]() ![]() Founding of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints (1830)Shortly after Joseph Smith published the Book of Mormon in 1830, he officially founded The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints—also known as the Mormon Church—in Fayette, New York. The church flourished but was forced to relocate frequently. It was violently expelled from Missouri, and a mob killed Smith in Illinois in 1844. His successor, Brigham Young, led followers to Utah three years later. Tensions with the US government continued to escalate, culminating in what war? More... Discuss |

I sure wish I had photographed the sheets in the windows so I could at least tell people what they are.
I didn't get a chance to visit w/ the owners as I did in my other posts about a car show in Pampa about a year or so ago. Really didn't have a lot of time; this was the largest car show I've ever attended.
It was also the second, I'm thinkin'.
I'm also wonderin' if I should've posted all of 'em at once, or maybe just left a link to a slideshow.
I might still make a slideshow out of a couple dozen of the "best". (the cars were nice, the photography is ... ehhhh.)
I've also been putting in "Burnin' the Bricks" (and not for sure if that would help the search efforts?)and "Pampa", too.
I would say this could be a '42, '46 or '47 model, but really hard to tell as thats assuming the parts are original year replacements/restorations. The '41 looks similar also but has a different parking light cover ;) years 43 through 45 didn't have chrome originally due to the war. and I don't think there were many... or any... light model trucks even built in one or two of those years. Would have liked to have known what the sheet said on this one. I don't know if the license plate starting with 47 means anything or whether it is just a random plate. So my guess is either a 42 or 46 and if this was a lottery I would say... 46 ;) but I generally pick crappy numbers on the lottery anyway! lol
before anyone thinks I really know my trucks.. I looked most of this info up! ;) , although I did have a pretty good idea of the years in the other post as I have seen a few of them locally.
Very cool. Never been to an "official" car show. They have "Cruise" nights around here were the local members of the vintage car clubs rally. It's neat to drive by a restaurants or dinner and see a them filling the parking lot.
I think those are blue lights in the hood's side chrome.
There's still a half-dozen in the queue, ready to post over the next week.
Thanks for posting!
