![]() ![]() Oscar Wilde's Libel Case Begins (1895)When the marquess of Queensbury became convinced that his son, Alfred Douglas, was having an affair with Wilde, he began to rail against the author and playwright, publicly accusing Wilde of sodomy, a crime at the time. At Douglas's urging, Wilde sued the marquess for libel. He not only lost the case, but was in turn charged with homosexual offenses and arrested. Wonder why i took a year and a half to discover it though! ;)
Still good news!
I probably won't get much; I semi-closed off nearly half of my house this last winter, used an electric space heater when I could and cut my gas bill significantly.
They strip all the "goody" outta the gas these days and it's drier than a popcorn fart and about as flammable.
And I just read something where the electric company was granted a rate increase.
