Roosevelt Forbids Hoarding of Gold (1933)Executive Order 6102 required US citizens and businesses to turn in all but a small amount of gold to the Federal Reserve in exchange for $20.67 per ounce. It came in the midst of a banking crisis, when the stability of paper currency was in doubt. Consequently, many tried to withdraw their money and redeem it for gold, which was considered safer. I did too, Alison, although I'm tempted to post every cute kitty vid I find. -big grin-
Now all I need is a cat and a rat and I could quit my day job. My dog eyeballs the cats and mice/rats when I take her to Pet Smart, so I doubt she would be a very good example for peace and love among the species. That was a pretty cool video.
My cat would scratch the eyes out of a dog but run from the rat.
He runs from mice, so I just figger....
I'd like to see an alligator and cat video next, please.
You could probably find one of an alligator eating a kitty, Mal. Some sick, twisted stuff on YouTube, esp. the Obama vids and the ignorant Obamabots still defending the tool.
