So many good songs from that musical. Thanks Mike.
I was surprised when I found out the movie hadn't been released until '79, well after I was out of school. So many of the songs were on the radio and popular when I was in h.s.
Funny story: I was in the One-Act Play my freshman year (and the rest, too) and we went over to the Amarillo Little Theater to borrow costumes for "The Miracle Worker". (I've got some trivia and a photograph to post on my FB page when I get it scanned) Aquarius (Let the Sunshine In) was popular and while we were getting fitted for our costumes, a couple of older girls (prob. seniors in h.s. or young college students) came onto the stage, talking loudly and drawing attention to themselves. They were both were really attractive; one was black and curvy and the other was...well, exactly the opposite, blonde and pale and willowy. The black girl saw me starting and them, then she swayed and waved her hands in the air and sang "When the moon is in the 7th house..." and the other chimed in "And Jupiter aligns with Mars".
I was really excited about being in the play and was even considering a career in theater or better yet, the movies...of course, depending upon how good of an actor I would be. It was that exact moment I decided against it. That was just too weird for a small town hick.
Of course, I've seen much weirder things since then, but that was really strange for a 14 yr. old bumpkin.
Thanks f/ posting!
"at them", not "and them". Sure wish there was an edit feature. I've been thinking of using a different comment feature...well, I did when I had this under the ToTG domain and was going to put it on its own space, but...
" They were both were really..."
Good grief.
