This Day in History
  Buchenwald Concentration Camp Liberated by American Troops (1945)Buchenwald was one of the first and largest concentration camps in Nazi Germany. As US forces closed in on the camp near the end of WWII, the Nazis began evacuating its prisoners, forcing them on "death marches" during which an estimated 13,500 were killed. On April 9, inmates at the camp used a makeshift radio transmitter to inform the Allies about the evacuations and beg for help. Always get a lump in my throat with this song. Sappy but true.
I think it's a pretty song, but it sounds like some other tune and I can't bring it to mind.
I wouldn't have thought of posting it, but it was in my YouTube channel feed and I thought "I haven't heard that in a long time!" so I listened to it and remembered how lovely a tune it was.
I like this song , haven't heard or remembered it in years , like you Mike , it seems to be familiar to something else I have heard , maybe its just around that time it was a hit there was a few songs that always seemed to have similar tunes , will listen and have a think of what song is in the back of my mind that sounds similar .Thanks for the share,always like a music post.
I try to not post too many and it's always fun to stumble across some old tune that was a video, even long before the video boom during the 80's.
I have more plans for posts than I do the mental energy to do them. I keep meaning to start my "remake" series, highlighting songs that have been covered and that sometimes people don't realize had been done before.
