I always wonder after reading as much as I have in my 60+ years why I have never run across some words like this one. Is it something used more in another country? Or have I seen it and just passed right over it cause I had no clue what it meant? That's one of the reasons I like my e-reader. If I don't recognize or understand a word in its context I can use the dictionary function and find out what it means. Not that I remember later, but it does make it nice to be able to look it up.
As you know, I don't do these every day, just for the ones I don't know or I can make some silly joke about. Some of them are definitely country-specific, such as Old English or British slang, words I've never seen.
I use my tablet for some ebooks, d/l several freebies off the 'net and found a few more places for free ones. I haven't seen anything I want to pay for yet, though. I mostly just use it to watch all my d/l movies, documentaries and TV shows. They're not good enough quality to watch on a TV screen, but with the smaller tablet, they look pretty good. I had it for quite a while before deciding to take it out of the pkg. and use it.
I bought a Nook 1st edition and then a Nook color. Then I got an iPad and now I have an iPad mini as well. (I must be kin to Dad and have to have all the new gadgets!) Plus I have to sit in front of a computer 10-12 hours a day 5 days a week so when I am off work my iPad is just right for checking Facebook and my e-mail from my recliner. I turn on my personal desktop computer maybe once a week. I have tons and tons of free books from Barnes and Noble as well as from Amazon. I read almost exclusively on my mini now. I play games and watch movies etc on my larger iPad. I love using my tablets.
