Roosevelt Forbids Hoarding of Gold (1933)Executive Order 6102 required US citizens and businesses to turn in all but a small amount of gold to the Federal Reserve in exchange for $20.67 per ounce. It came in the midst of a banking crisis, when the stability of paper currency was in doubt. Consequently, many tried to withdraw their money and redeem it for gold, which was considered safer. Pretty pics, Mike. Gary would like this one, He does love marigolds for some reason.
I can't even grow them; momma used to give me seeds every year, but I never could get them to come up. Even when I'd buy the flowers in the little pots, they'd last only a few weeks. I don't think they smell very good but I think they also make good bug repellents, too, right?
