This Day in History
  As the World Turns Premieres (1956)Soap operas began in the early 1930s as 15-minute radio episodes and continued in that format when they began appearing on TV in the early 1950s. As the World Turns premiered as the first half-hour TV soap. The show, which primarily focused on two professional families in the fictional town of Oakdale, Illinois, ran for 54 years and aired nearly 14,000 episodes. Along with Fl.Mac ,Queen , Moody Blues ,Art and Paul are musicians I never tire of listening to , just yesterday I was having a You Tube session and most of it was listening to them , from early to recent my favourite is Sound of Silence.

Y/W Alison. I grew up with the music of these guys. I almost always watch "The Graduate" when it comes on...have seen it more than enough, but it has a great soundtrack featuring S&G. I like their music because some of it is slow and beautiful, and others are catchy and have a great beat.
