  As the World Turns Premieres (1956)Soap operas began in the early 1930s as 15-minute radio episodes and continued in that format when they began appearing on TV in the early 1950s. As the World Turns premiered as the first half-hour TV soap. The show, which primarily focused on two professional families in the fictional town of Oakdale, Illinois, ran for 54 years and aired nearly 14,000 episodes. It was a good quality vid, wasn't it? I wasn't all that familiar with The Band until I saw a great movie called "Carny" w/ Gary Busey and Robbie Robertson. I don't know why Robertson didn't go on to do more acting because he was brilliant in that, as was Busey. (of course, it was playing to Busey's crazy true life persona)
After an incident last night, I thought "Man, i feel lighter." and immediately thought of this tune. I've had a rough couple of months lately. Things are gonna look up!
I should have added that Robertson participated in other movies, but not many other acting roles.
