  As the World Turns Premieres (1956)Soap operas began in the early 1930s as 15-minute radio episodes and continued in that format when they began appearing on TV in the early 1950s. As the World Turns premiered as the first half-hour TV soap. The show, which primarily focused on two professional families in the fictional town of Oakdale, Illinois, ran for 54 years and aired nearly 14,000 episodes. That was really well shot. I like both squirrels and hawks so I was sort of sorry for the hawk. I'm always telling Colleen, "Hey, everybody's got to eat!"
I like both, too. People shoot hawks around here, not sure why unless it's just b/c they're ignorant S.O.B.'s. My folks liked their squirrels, too - after they moved to town, they enjoyed watching them, then found out they were the reason they had to refill their bird feeders every day. It wasn't losing the food so much that bothered them, it was how the squirrels shoveled out the food on the ground. They started putting out food for the squirrels but it didn't make a lot of difference.
Anyway, it was a good video, huh? I wish more were like that, higher definition. I was wanting to watch an old movie the other day but it was such poor quality, it wasn't worth it, even free.
I enjoyed that video and I am so glad it had a happy ending , I love the squirrels also , and yes the Hawks are amazing ,that what Chester says the same as you Barb that everyone has to eat , but still its sad to see any kind of creature die at the hands/claws /paws of another . Those squirrels eyes just melt me.
