![]() ![]() US President Franklin D. Roosevelt Forbids Hoarding of Gold (1933)Executive Order 6102 required US citizens and businesses to turn in all but a small amount of gold to the Federal Reserve in exchange for $20.67 per ounce. It came in the midst of a banking crisis, when the stability of paper currency was in doubt. Consequently, many tried to withdraw their money and redeem it for gold, which was considered safer. That was really well shot. I like both squirrels and hawks so I was sort of sorry for the hawk. I'm always telling Colleen, "Hey, everybody's got to eat!"
I like both, too. People shoot hawks around here, not sure why unless it's just b/c they're ignorant S.O.B.'s. My folks liked their squirrels, too - after they moved to town, they enjoyed watching them, then found out they were the reason they had to refill their bird feeders every day. It wasn't losing the food so much that bothered them, it was how the squirrels shoveled out the food on the ground. They started putting out food for the squirrels but it didn't make a lot of difference.
Anyway, it was a good video, huh? I wish more were like that, higher definition. I was wanting to watch an old movie the other day but it was such poor quality, it wasn't worth it, even free.
I enjoyed that video and I am so glad it had a happy ending , I love the squirrels also , and yes the Hawks are amazing ,that what Chester says the same as you Barb that everyone has to eat , but still its sad to see any kind of creature die at the hands/claws /paws of another . Those squirrels eyes just melt me.
Thanks for post Mike you do find some good ones.
