The church flourished but was forced to relocate frequently. It was violently expelled from Missouri, and a mob killed Smith in Illinois in 1844. YAY! Chick cam time.
Love my flock.
This webcam site would be so SO much better, if there was a way to honk a loud horn in the cage by pressing the ALT-DEL-H keys on anyone's keyboard.
Now that would be 'cute'.
Or maybe 'ALT-DEL-S' would shake a rubber snake...
ya think?
I'm sure they'd freak out, Mal, even though they've never seen a snake. Most animals have an instinct about snakes. My pop once killed a rattler and after cutting the head and rattles off it, I threw it into my hog's pen and they were scared for a while...then they ate it!
Wish I had some chickens, Barb. I love to watch them scratch the ground.
Sometimes I just sit out side and watch my little flock. One some of the backyard chicken sites they call it "watching chicken TV". They really are funny, relaxing and interesting. Who'd have thunk?
Oh, and Mal, they would freak. I can always tell when there is something going on in my yard, could be a fox, a hawk, a stray dog. The hens and the rooster raise a ruckus.
I also love the sounds they make, the clucking and the longer drawn out "awwwwk". There's something about it that's comforting, prob. like hearing a cat's purr.
I've been visiting this one since this batch hatched and they're sure getting big. The other day I tuned in and one of 'em had it's butt up to the camera and proceeded to...well, do what chickens do a lot! It was funny and gross at the same time!
My dad used to say chicken poop was great for chapped lips...then he'd say the medicinal value was in doubt, but you sure wouldn't lick 'em.
