![]() ![]() Oscar Wilde's Libel Case Begins (1895)When the marquess of Queensbury became convinced that his son, Alfred Douglas, was having an affair with Wilde, he began to rail against the author and playwright, publicly accusing Wilde of sodomy, a crime at the time. At Douglas's urging, Wilde sued the marquess for libel. He not only lost the case, but was in turn charged with homosexual offenses and arrested. Very appropriate name!
That was on my trivia calendar for yesterday. I remember reading that the reason certain species of flamingos are pink is because of their diet, the algae and crustaceans they eat and if you ever see a pale one amongst the pink colored ones, it's probably ill.
I stayed at the Flamingo in Las Vegas a few years ago. There were all kinds of flamingos around there!
some people used to flock the yard for special birthdays. they are cute
I've seen that, Beary - one of my neighbors had it done a while back.

My fav. lawn ornaments are whirly-gigs. The first time I ever saw one of those plywood cutouts of the rear view of a woman bending over like she was planting something, it was funny, but then the novelty wore off.
