Despite the invention of a counting machine, by the time the 1880 census was tabulated, it was almost 1890. Dealing with so much data remained a problem until the late 1940s, when the Census Bureau commissioned the first civilian computer. I'd die on the way down. Besides, I'd have to have on rubber underwear to protect the folks down below. I won't even go on the rides at the fair, so I doubt I have the guts to get anywhere close to doing this. I was nervous just getting on the ski lift at Red River. Yep, that's me....just a big chicken!
Wow ! I got quesy just watching that ,I was a real daredevil in my younger days but became a bit of a wimp as I got older, but If I was there I think I would still have a try .
I was wondering what that "bullseye" was on the ground there in the first vid; my first thought was that was where most people fall when they come disconnected from the line.
I bet they have to use some expensive bearings in the gear attached to the line.
I bet they make you sign a waiver before you ride it, too.
There are a few videos of zipline mishaps, too.
