Resistor Color Coder is free, and is very useful for determining the color codes or values of 4 and 5 band resistors.
To select the mode, click on the 4 or 5 band resistor icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
The lefthand 3 or 4 bands determine resistor value, the righthand band resistor tolerance.

Free Holiday Postcard
Compliments of Google
From the site:
Sure, email is great, but there's something uniquely heartwarming about the kind of card that comes in the actual mail — especially for folks who don't hear from us as often as they should, simply because they aren't online.
So we've made it as easy to send snail-mail holiday cards as it is to send email. Simply fill out the form below and we'll send one free holiday postcard on your behalf. Yes, through the mail and everything.
Only one card can be sent, but if you like their cards, you can print your own.

Free Betty Crocker Calendar
Sign up at the Betty Crocker site
NOTE: It's been a while since I originally signed up (I think it was for last year's calendar)and I can't recall what is required other than simply signing up and becoming a member of the site, but I get a weekly newsletter with some fantastic looking recipes each time. When I find one I like, I save it to my recipe box at the website, using folders for each sort of dish, i.e. desserts, main course, casseroles, etc.

Asian Liver
This came through my reader via one of the freebie sites to which I subscribe.
AsianLiver.com
Sign up and receive a pen and a deck of cards.
The site seems to be an "awareness" one concerning hepatitis and its affects.
I didn't sign up because:
(a) I have plenty of pens
(b) I don't need a deck of cards
(c) I'm afraid I'd be signing up to donate my liver
AsianLiver.com
Wonder if you get onions with a new liver?

BrowserShots
BrowserShots: Check your website's compatibility, cross platform browser test
From the site:
What is BrowserShots?
Browsershots makes screenshots of your web design in different browsers. It is a free open-source online service created by Johann C. Rocholl. When you submit your web address, it will be added to the job queue. A number of distributed computers will open your website in their browser. Then they will make screenshots and upload them to the central server here.
BrowserShots
Even though I don't have a "real" website, I went ahead and submitted this blog's URL as a test and got these results. What's really cool is they'll zip all the screenshots up into a zip file for you!

Flag Counter
Stumbled across another nifty service similar to Feedjit; this one is Flag Counter, a free "sticky" counter that's easily customized to one's site or blog.
Here's an example of what it looks like:
The above screenshot is from the Flag Counter site.
From the website:
Add our free counter to any website, it's just a simple image. Every time someone from a new country visits your site, a new flag will be added to your counter. The total number of visitors from each country will be shown next to the flag, and clicking the counter image will reveal all sorts of useful information!
I put it at the very bottom of this "page" and have it set up for all flags and eight columns.
I know, I know...I'm overly optimistic. I'm lucky to get any visitors from other countries at all, except those with gay dwarf and sister's feet fetishes.
Flag Counter
EDIT/UPDATE
The counter has been up for one week and we've had 308 visitors from 41 countries with 700 visits.

Tint the Twister!
Color a cowboy riding a tornado at the NWS weather site:
From the site:
A wild ride for sure! However, tornadoes are nothing you can play around. If you hear a tornado warning for your area or see a tornado, take cover immediately a well-built building or house.
(I'm sure they meant to say take cover "in"...not sure I would want to stick around to cover a building or house, well-built or not)
Color the picture by clicking on a color swatch at the bottom of the image then click on the image where you want to apply that color. Color off-line by downloading and printing the pdf version.
That cowboy has the biggest nose of any I've ever seen.
I'm not sure I should even mention his saddle horn.

I prefer "Wind it Up" out of the three.
