Cross in Sunshine

Click the photo for a larger view and it will be easier to see just how massive is the Groom Cross. The statues surrounding the cross are life-sized and you can gain a better perspective by comparing the people walking around the base.

Get religion, make money!

This is where I usually would say something such as

"My prayers have been answered!"

But...that would be as tasteless as that advert.

(although *some* might say that's never stopped me before...)

The Leaning Tower of Texas

West of Groom, Texas

This tower is just off I-40 and is right alongside one of the last surviving sections of Route 66 in this area. This was an "eyecatcher" for a truckstop which was destroyed in a fire a few years ago.

Kung Fu Science

(from the website)

Kung Fu is a form of self defence and is therefore extremely dangerous. The techniques featured on this website should only be conducted under supervision of a professional martial arts teacher. Under no circumstances should you try to recreate anything you see here.

All I would have to say about this site has already been said in those immortal words of Carl Douglas:

Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting!
Come on!
Huh! Woo-ha!
Those kicks were fast as lightning,
Hah! Woo-cha!
In fact, was a little bit frightening,
Huh! Huh-huh!
But they fought with expert timing.
Hah!

The Face of Age

Living in Three Centuries: The Face of Age

(from the website)

Living in Three Centuries: The Face of Age is the working title for this black-and-white photographic portrait project.

All seventy-two framed prints are available as a major traveling exhibition for museums and galleries, as well as limited edition individual prints for sale.

A book, a large-format monograph containing sixty images printed with absolute fidelity to the original photographs, is being produced to accompany the exhibition.

A fantastic group of photos, well worth a look!
