Chase Holfelder takes happy songs in a major key and converts them to sad songs in a minor key. He's done several songs on his YouTube channel, but this cover of Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" is interesting, beautiful and different.

Oh very nice indeed, what a difference to the original by Cyndi , this guy has a beautiful voice, very talented indeed. He reminds me of my son ,Wish he had continued to sing ,he also had a great voice but he put his singing talents aside to concentrate on his other career, but i guess if he ever has to fall back on something he has his voice ( maybe busking on the underground or on a street corner ) hope not though, not I guess an ideal job,but ,better than nothing.
He does have a beautiful voice. I like some of his other videos, particularly his rendition of "I Want You to Want Me" by Cheap Trick (one of my fav. songs and one I'm not prone to liking sub-standard covers of it). I recently only subscribed and while getting the link to his channel, saw where his version of "Amazing Grace" had been used in an episode of "Deadliest Catch". I gave up cable a while back, but that's one of the shows I always watched and have found a website to view the show on.
I really like it when people like this guy do the overdubbing and sing harmony and/or play other instruments to songs they do. There's a new internet sensation doing just that - she starts out w/ some sort of "beat box" (there's a name for it but it escapes me at the moment) and lays down a beat, then records that and does another and even more of them. Then she'll sing and little bit, record THAT and do the same thing w/ her voice. The amazing thing is she does it not in a studio, but sometimes on her bed and all in one take. Here's one of her more polished and professional songs she's done- I posted it at the first of this month:
Anthem - Kawehi
Thanks for the share of that I didn't catch it when you posted it previously,I enjoyed it , well done all around with the vid and the song .
I have always enjoyed these kind of compilations and acapella styles impress me a lot .
