I beg to differ , I can name one in our family (wink).
My dad called me that once, infuriated me. he was angry that I had mentioned to my cousin that he and Mom were going to Vegas one weekend. She told her folks, but I didn't know that the folks were just going there and just wanted to gamble and not visit with HER folks (my mom's brother and wife). He should have said something to me but I didn't know it was a friggin' secret.
He came to see me while I was at work and I kept telling him I was sorry, and also that I had a truck to put up but he just kept on. I told him he could meet me outside the door when I locked up that night and he could continue to bitch at me if he wanted, but for now I had work to do. I walked away and he told me to never turn my back on him and I asked him what he would do, sucker punch me in the back of the head...and then said that would be about right for a chicken sh*t like he was and turned away again. He grabbed my arm and I thought he was going to hit me and I said with more fury than I'd ever felt before that he'd better never lay a hand on me again or it might be the very last thing he'd do. I was nose to nose with him and like only a few other times in my life, there was a pinkish tinge to the world. (there IS something to the old saying "seeing red")
Of course, he's dead now and I regret our contentious relationship and know that I was responsible for my fair share of it, but I still don't think I did anything wrong. Again, he should have told me it was such a big secret.
