Don't Drop Anything in THAT Box!

Funny...or at least "odd"...404 page graphic at Dropbox.

Oops, It's Been Done Again

404 page on zap2it.com. "Oops" seems to be gaining in popularity on these type of pages.  How 'bout "Oops, I'll never visit your website again if you don't fix your broken links!" ?

Bummed, Not Buzzed

Not a 404 page, but close enough. Found on the TV Buzer page.

Nope, no free honey, not even the sweet link I was looking for.

Different Dead Dog Links

Not different dead dogs, but dead links with different dogs.

Here's one of the Amazon 404 pages;  you can get a different dog by refreshing the page, but they're all on this page: Meet the Dogs of Amazon.

Say what you want about Amazon, it has to be a pretty good place to work that lets you bring your dog...unless you don't LIKE dogs, I guess.

Not a Negative

Cute 404 page from iStockphoto.com

Unremarkable

The most remarkable thing about this 404 message on TuneIn.com (radio) is that it's so unremarkable;  no cutesy little joke or illustration, no snarky or clever comment, just this simple graphic:

Dog Day Afternoon

Got an email from Fanbox yesterday afternoon, saying I had a fairly large amt. of money in my account.  Now, I don't remember signing up for it, but that's nothing new - I got an email from Flickr a while back telling me I needed to sign into the site if I wanted to keep my acct., so it was a distinct possibility that I had joined the site then promptly forgot about it. (as I did Flickr)   So, I went to the site to see why it was I had money in my account and when I clicked on the link, the above was where I was sent.

I read more about it and found out many on the 'net think it's a scam. It probably is because I would have had to give some sensitive information to cash in my money, but their 404 page is cute.

They can keep the money.

Off the Map

While trying to amend the URL of the post below (to take out the Facebook appendage reference in the link) I stumbled across the Atlas Obscura 404 page: (the first part of it is a screen shot, but the "here" link will work)

There aren't even monsters here. If you want monsters, check here.

Trumped Again!

Hilarious 404 page from the President's re-election website.

Outfoxed With Link

Saw an article linked to on Bing to the Fox News website, read it, then saw another article I wanted to read but got a 404 page.

"You may be interested in the content below."

Uh, I "may be", but I clicked on the link to an article that definitely DID interest me...and it wasn't there.  Get your act together, Fox News.

On the other hand, if it had been on the MSNBC or CNN websites, the article would have been there, but I'd have had to tilt my head to the left to read it and crossed my eyes to filter out the political bias.  I'd say the same thing is sometimes true - in reverse-  of Fox News too, but they're the only ones accused of being biased. Gimme a break.

I'm Still Hanging in There

Hello, all sports fans and athletic supporters! (and the last is the "proper" term for jock straps, just in case you didn't know)

These are the worst sort of 404 pages; I got a new post in my reader from a Dallas Cowboys fan blog Blogging the Boys, but when I went to the site to read the rest of it and any comments that had been left, it wasn't there and had been deleted shortly after it had been posted.

This happen more frequently on a few of my recipe sites; I don't know what happens, but I suspect the author re-reads their piece and sees mistakes or decides there are too many/not enough photos or something else they didn't like. Sometimes they're re-posted, sometimes not. I don't know why this article was deleted; from what I read, it was good writing and made a lot of sense...unusual for most Cowboys fans and/or writers.

Along Came a Spider

From Lockerdome.com

Nothing here?

Sorry, but a spider and its web ain't exactly "nothing".   I shuddered so much when I opened the 404 page the govt. seismograph registered an earthquake here in town.

I know it's called the "world wide web" but I didn't think it would be one literally.
