These guys are still amazing to see live even after all these years

I had a chance to go see them in Amarillo and didn't. (had to work and needed the money and concert tickets were outrageous)

Read a newspaper review the next day and the writer said it was a great show, but that not many showed up and they were less than enthusiastic. He said it was doubtful they'd ever come back. They play at Dallas and OKC now 'n then and I've been tempted to go. They're one of the few bands I'd bother to go see.

That song starts out faster than normal, notice that? The singer can barely keep up. ("the singer" - I should know his name but drawing a blank for some reason, guess just because it's early)

How did they get so old? Same way I did, I guess. They do still sound good though.

I would have loved to see them live , maybe in the future they will be doing a UK tour ( before they draw their pensions ) I have loved Justin Hayward since I was a child and he sang Forever Autumn , loved The Days of Future Past album ,its hard to say what my fave track is they were all so good , have to say I loved their Driftwood song and something about Floating that always grabs me too.

Thanks for posting the song Mike ,have a great weekend.

Well, they're older than us, sis. At least we got that goin' for us.

I remember Garazon and I once having a discussion in chat about the best album covers ever, and we both agreed that several of their albums would make our top ten.

I didn't really get "into" them until I went off to college and my 2nd semester roomie had a nice stereo and several MB albums. They were great to listen to when our minds had "been expanded". -wink, wink - nudge, nudge- Many a night we fell asleep to one of their records, it playing over and over again.

This tune is off the Every Good Boy Deserves Favour (which is one of the great album covers and was the first time I recall ever seeing the British spelling of favor)

The "intro" song to this is "Procession", an instrumental with just three words spoken throughout the entire song: "desolation", "creation", and "communication" and is a history of music, starting with primitive drum beats and chanting, then going to a Victorian? harpsichord and ending up with an electric guitar riff, which led into "Story".

Also, the letters of the name of the album EGBDF is a mnemonic device and stands for the notes on a treble clef. (the notes are played near the beginning of the song, too, between the chanted "desolation" and "creation".

Thanks for the reminder about the name, Alison. I love music, know a lot of trivia, but I've never been good w/ names. (I'm hell with faces, too.) I gave up after trying to figure out all the combinations of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. -grin-

I've got most of their music, I think. I also love ELO's similar music, but even as much as I love them, they don't hold a candle to the Moodies.

Thanks to all for posting.
