I used to have a minibike. (pop made it for me, it was a good one)
I couldn't ride this well, though.

That was almost scary watching that monkey. What happened to your mini-bike, Mike? I don't seem to remember.
I want a monkey for my birthday ! he is so clever , could train him to do many more things !...lol
I don't remember what happened to that minibike, come to think of it. Dad prob. traded it for a goat or a transmission after I got a car.
I knew a kid who had two monkeys, Alison. One still lived with them in the house and when it got out, it wreaked havoc everywhere. The other had been relegated to their ranch/farm and lived in a fairly big cage and you didn't dare come too close or it'd rip your arm off or throw feces at you.
A friend here in town also had some sort of monkey and it too became mean. I dunno 'bout the other guy, but I know this guy didn't mistreat his.
They're wild animals, after all, and people make the mistake of thinking they can be truly domesticated.
A funny thing -that happens frequently to me- is that just after this thread got started, I happened across a story on one of the news channels about "exotic pets".
The piece mentioned big cats, and I have always thought I'd love to have one. I've got a few photos of me holding a friend's bobcat, but I know even one of those "small cats" would be more than I could handle. A cat, of any sort, in a cage is a truly sad sight.
Primates were also shown as a bad choice for a house pet, along with quite a few species of snakes (such as a deadly poisonous type) as well as quite a few reptiles. (Iquanas and some others can transmit certain diseases to humans)
Snakes - shudder - never were an attraction to me, and I'll admit I've kept a tarantula or two in a jar for a few hours, but that was all. I've also kept a horny toad for a day or two, but you have to keep them supplied in red ants, so...
I finally settled on an exotic pet that suits my lifestyle:
A tapeworm.
Why not? It goes where I go, eats what I eat.
