I was sitting here, wondering how I remembered exactly how many people lived in the town when I was a kid and it dawned on me that Higgins had 711 while we had exactly a hundred less.
A pal of mine from Higgins told me that, saying living there was like a crap shoot. (7-11, gettit?)
According to Wiki, Higgins is down to 425. I was through there not long ago and it does look like the town is about to dry up and blow away.
That could refer to the rapidly dimishing speed limit while entering Miami, the signs spaced unrealistically close together. Miami is getting a reputation as a speed trap.
OR
It might refer to the main meth dealer in Roberts Co. being gone for a while.
I haven't been to Miami in a long time. I guess since we went to your class reunion several years ago. I can't believe the grocery store is open on Sunday. It used to close at 5 pm Monday through Saturday and there wasn't even a convenience store to get milk and/or bread if you didn't make it to the store in time. It was 23 miles to the next closest town and there was only one 7-11 convenience store there, I think. I never would have believed grocery stores would some day be open 24/7. Makes me feel/sound old.

The town is slowly dying, and I mean slowly. There were 611 residents back when I was a kid.
At that rate, it'll be a ghost town in two/three centuries.
I noticed a hit on this from someone in Miami, Florida. I'm sure they were looking for a different city limits.

"Reduced Speed Ahead"

I think it means if you don't reduce your speed when you're going through town, you'll blink and miss it completely!
You can't hold your breath inbetween the city limits sign, sis, I've tried.
You might not believe this, but the grocery store is now open on Sundays!!!
signS, the two on 60.
I drove around town today, wondered who was living in certain houses now. I even drove by Jay Bob's house.
