Roosevelt Forbids Hoarding of Gold (1933)Executive Order 6102 required US citizens and businesses to turn in all but a small amount of gold to the Federal Reserve in exchange for $20.67 per ounce. It came in the midst of a banking crisis, when the stability of paper currency was in doubt. Consequently, many tried to withdraw their money and redeem it for gold, which was considered safer. Not a bad song , the vid was a bit weird looking though , was trying to think if I have ever heard of them before , not sure , going to have to look them up on Wiki and get more info , very 70's though judging by the flared trouser legs and catsuit outfits lol , did men really go around looking like that and get away with it , I guess so .
Without looking, I'm pretty sure that song was released my sr. yr. in h.s./1973. It's in my jukebox.
Yep, a lot of guys dressed like that...well, not like THAT, but the flared pants. Polyester was the rage, the lead-in to disco.
I'm pretty sure those guys were ripped (stoned) when they made that vid. The lead singer's eyes look glassy and the long-haired dude at around 2:50 in the vid is blitzed outta his gourd, I'm positive. lol
