I never knew this. Labs are smart dogs. We had one when I was a kid.
I like them too, Beary; they seem to be good around kids w/ a gentle disposition. I helped a friend train his dog to be a Frisbee catcher, but it died for some unknown reason.

His black lab, should have added.
Ours was a black lab also. My brother gave Him to us. He was very smart. Went hunting with My Dad, put the cow's in when we were farming. We lived in a very small South Dakota town about 100 people and there was a couple of small stores He'd wait outside for Me. Followed us to Church one Sunday. Went straight to My Dad and the Pastor said Well I did say all are welcome here.
