Giraffe Cam
One of my favorite webcams and I try to visit at least every few days. This cam is of the Masai Giraffe Exhibit at the Greenville, SC zoo where you can watch the mom, Autumn, and dad, Walter and their son Kiko. If the giraffes aren't in their stalls, then they're most likely out in the paddock, which also has a cam (link at bottom of page) and they also have an archived video of giraffe births on YouTube.
BTW, I'm a giraffe.

Micro-Pigs
Micro-piglets eating an apple.
The regular sized pigs look especially good with an apple in their mouths, too...after a long, slow roasting.

Cuddle Clones®
Get your one-of-a-kind plush replica that looks just like your pet at Cuddle Clones®. All you have to do is submit at least one photo of your pet and choose a few customization options (eye color, ear and tail position and other distinguishing features) and they'll send you your very own Cuddle Clone®.
There are two price scales, one for small pets such as guinea pigs, rabbits and other small pets and a little more expensive for large pets such as dogs, cats and horses. A portion of the price of each Cuddle Clone® goes to pet-related causes.
They also sell custom figurine likenesses of your pet, custom collars, granite memorials, other custom stuffed animals and gift cards for all occasions

Running Hamsters
On average, a hamster will run up to 3 miles each day.
Check it out: the guy has the wheel hooked up to a tachometer.

Execution By Elephant
Execution by elephant was a common method of capital punishment in South and Southeast Asia, and particularly in India.
Man, that's heavy. - ahem -
That graphic, courtesy of Wiki (at the link above) is gruesome enough and might be stretching the limits of this, a G-rated blog. Even though it's a drawing/painting, it's bad enough, but for some reason, this video on YouTube made me laugh a little bit.
Somehow, an animated execution isn't all that gruesome.

First Earthling to Orbit The Earth
The first Earthling in space wasn't a human, but was Laika, a Soviet space dog. Laika died within hours of the launch due to overheating.
Laika was a stray dog found on the streets of Moscow and was chosen for her even temperament. Before the launch, one of the scientists took Laika home to play with his children. In a book chronicling the story of Soviet space medicine, Dr. Vladimir Yazdovsky wrote, "I wanted to do something nice for her: She had so little time left to live."
The first animals in space were fruit flies sent into sub-orbital trajectory by the U.S. in a captured V-2 German rocket in 1947.
