This was the last song played on the last episode of that delightful TV series Northern Exposure. It reminds me of my own home town. So many small towns are becoming nothing more than a spot in the road with a stop sign.
It also reminds me of my folks.

LOL Mike. I really think her voice is perfect for that song. It's a poignant song made even more so by her voice. Who ever shot that vid created the perfect vignette. Bitter sweet and lovely all at once.
I never had heard of her until I saw that last episode of NX. The song was the best thing about the pathetic ending of that quirky TV series.
I've since seen other vids of her singing with Emmilou Harris, some other female country singers. I also saw another video of her doing this very song live at some town's whatever-festival and it was horrible.
She does have a lovely voice in a very unique way, but it's not one I would want to listen to all day long, sort of like Dolly Parton's, or even one of my very favorite singer's, Alison Krause. I think they're just a bit too high-pitched even if they ARE lovely, y'know?
