Social Disease - Elton John

Clever homemade video w/ clips of "The Twilight Zone".

Catchy tune and great lyrics w/ probably the best line of any rock song:

"I get juiced on Mateus and just hang loose!"

Love that era of Elton's music.

Me too, Barb. I think Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is EJ's best albums and one of my top five of all-time. Not a bad tune on it, plus it's a double album! I think I wore out three copies of the records before CDs and digital came about.

Thanks f/ posting!

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Honkey Cat are my two favorites. I think I lost interest in most of his music after Captain Fantastic and I think the last album of his that I bought was Rock of the Westies.
Any you're so right, not a bad song on that double album.

That's about the same time I quit buying his albums, too. I did some quick research to make sure of the timeline, but my attraction to his music coincided w/ he and Bernie Taupin's split. I loved some of EJ's singles after that/since but there weren't any complete albums that I liked as I did those from the mid-70's and before.

And, it has something to do with that time of my life...literally having the time of my life when I was young and EJ was at the height of his popularity. I associate his music and esp. certain songs w/ that time and that sways my opinion.

Funny thing, I got a pizza last week and went to go pick it up. As I drove up to the Pizza Hut drive up window, "Rocket Man" came on the radio. It was such a blast of nostalgia because I associate that song w/ that particular eating establishment, playing that song over and over while there w/ friends or a date.

Other songs of EJ's bring back memories, too. "Tiny Dancer" because it was a g/f's fav. tune...remembering her click the 8-track player in order to get back to the song to play it again...discussing "Levon"'s lyrics w/ a good friend...drinking TJ Swan wine w/ my best friend while "Saturday Nights All Right For Fighting" played. Sitting here thinking about GYBR double album, I remembered it was so handy to put on the lap to clean the stems and seeds and rolling up "enough" for a party.

Yeah, it was good music, but the good times I had while listening to it made it all that much better.

the "waning" of my attraction to his music w/ Taupin's leaving...should have clarified.
