Very clever, Mike. What can you do with the points?

Can't remember who it was, but I got a set of books f/ one of the kiddos for Christmas several years ago. (like ten yrs ago!) I got a nice hoodie last time, some other things, can't remember.

Great site, Gary turned me on to it, I think . A daily visit gains you five points, commenting on a recipe another five, visiting the forums the same, as does answering the trivia or participating in the polls. Bonus points for ten visits, think it is.

Loads of samples and free stuff. Just about my fav. site.

Just checked the current prizes; sometimes the best prizes are gone, so you need to check daily when you have enough miles (that's what they're called) f/ what you want. Here are the prizes at the moment:

Tote bag, mobile device holder, dry erase clip, Therm-O-Tote, $25 gift certificate, deluxe microfiber cloth, tumbler, 8GB flash drive, embroidered full zip sweatshirt (hoodie), $100 Visa Gift Card, $150 Visa Gift Card.

I currently have 13,655 miles (points) after getting the hoodie. I could get the microfiber cloth or anything before that. I hope the flash drive stays on there, but it will be a while before I have enough for it.

It doesn't take all that long to accumulate miles; they have 7-10 recipes every day and commenting on each will get you 35-50 miles. Helpful hint comments count, too. I usually just type in "Thanks" and copy it and paste it in under all the other posts. (so do most others, looks like) The polls and contests and visiting daily counts f/ another 20 miles, so it's not hard to get 500 + miles/week. At that rate, it takes a yr. to get the biggest prizes, but I enjoy the site anyway and usually save at least 3-4 recipes ea. day, sometimes more, sometimes less. This is a good time of the year, what w/ Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas recipes.

The msg. boards very seldom have drama, except for the occ. asshat getting angry at someone for an innocent comment, or sometimes there's someone who gripes at any alcoholic beverage drink recipe...and I've seen a few people whine about someone not leaving a comment, just a period of even leaving it blank. Not often, though. Never see much of that in the forum, but I just visit it to get my points, not to participate.

period OR, not "of"

You turned me on to that site and I still go there on occasion. I spend up to 12 hours a day on my work computer and I just don't spend much time on my personal computer most of the time for obvious reasons.

I can understand that. I don't think I have visited it yet today, will have to go look. Takes about ten minutes to cycle through everything and save the recipes I like.

They slacked off on the rewards a few years ago, so I think they lost a lot of traffic. They started handing out miles for commenting and now there's 2-300+ on each post and now have better stuff. One of these days I'm going into the archives to post "Thanks" on all the posts to get a lot of miles.
