I think it means a black umbrella is the only kind I've ever had that stood up to the fierce Panhandle wind. I had a little red umbrella once; I kept it in the glove box and used it exactly one time during an afternoon thunderstorm to get from my car to the house without getting wet.
I reckon it was in Oklahoma by supper time.

Your Black Umbrella Says You're Powerful |
You are naturally powerful and commanding. People look to you to take charge. You are elegant and classy. You know how to always say and do the right thing. While you stand out, you also fit it. You thrive in a variety of situations. On a rainy day: you carry on as normal - a little bad weather isn't going to get in your way! |

I bet I can count the number of times I've seen someone use an umbrella on one hand. It's usually at funerals or during church when it's raining.
Rain is such a rare occurrence around here that I suspect most are like me and want to enjoy it. A little water never hurt anyone (well, maybe their suede jacket). In my case it saves a shower, need to carry around a bar of soap just in case!
Thanks f/ posting! I appreciate you!
I HATE SNOW! Driving in it, working in it, looking at it, feeling of it, thinking about it when I get a huge gas bill...
I try my best to allow others to have their own opinions, but when I see someone type "I love snow! It's so beautiful!" I have to tie my fingers in a knot to keep from typing a scathing reply, one I've done before and goes like this:
"The only people who love snow are those who never had to work out in it or drive a hundred miles to their work on icy roads. There's nothing 'beautiful' about shivering for eight or 12 hours...or frostbite, for that matter. I suppose I could "love snow" if I could sit in front of a roaring fire, sipping a brandy staring out at the 'Winter Wonderland' at the "beautiful snow-covered landscape'. No, I don't like snow and don't really like people how like snow. I particularly don't like the huge gas bills that come along with that 'beautiful snow'."
I don't snow ski, but I could understand if someone likes it for that, but as for me? I'd prefer to spend my Christmas season in Hawaii.
I wouldn't move north of the city limits...it's south all the way for me, baby!
I've used more umbrellas since I've been in Denton than I did all the other years of my life in the Panhandle. I think mainly cause the wind doesn't blow as much here when it rains. I saw 3 little grade school age girls walking home on Thursday using umbrellas just to keep the sun off them. There wasn't a rain cloud in sight. It made me wonder why they had them. My grandmother would have liked it. She used to make old fashioned bonnets for my sister and I to wear when we were outside doing anything when we were in grade school. She was taught that a "lady" had skin that never saw the sun back when she was our age. I'm sure she cringed later when we would put on the baby oil and iodine and go "bake" in the sun. I am glad she taught me to use Oil of Olay though. Every little bit helps!
I deleted that comment after copying it, then left out the first letter and deleted it again and then did the same thing once again! I still didn't fix the mistake I wanted to, the "don't really like people how like snow" comment. It was supposed to be WHO, not how. -sigh-
I have so little control over most things I get a little anal retentive about my posts. I can't even begin to think of perfection in my life, but I sure want to come close w/ my posts, at least no stupid typos or grammatical errors.
