New Moon
New Moon - the phase of the moon when it is in conjunction with the sun and invisible from earth, or shortly thereafter when it appears as a slender crescent.
There was a new moon last night (Sept 1) and there will be another on Sept 30.
According to superstition, two new moons occurring in one month foretells bad weather.

What Nut Are You?
You Are a Hazelnut |
You are very unique and distinct. You may even freak some people out. Most people don't really know how to interact with you. You get along best with anyone who is super sweet. But you really do get along with almost anyone. You just need a chance to wow them. |
I didn't look up the results for other types of nuts, but I'm not fond of hazelnuts. They're OK, just not my favorite. I guess that's probably what people think of me, not esp. fond of me and not their favorite.
Their opinion doesn't drive me nuts, though.

Lancing an Enormous Boil
No, that's not the reason I haven't been posting, I just haven't felt like it.
Instead, I've been reading more, about everything but politics. The Cowboys have been going through training camp and are playing their last preseason game tomorrow night. What with suspensions, injuries and all the other usual drama surrounding the team, I've been trying to keep up with all the news and transactions.
Unlike nearly every other article I read online about anything else, I avoid reading the comments under the DallasCowboys.com articles. Why? Because they're usually made by kids or other people who should limit their opinions to sports they "might" know something about...like tiddlywinks or hopscotch.
Also, the people who run the site don't even seem to make an effort to limit the spam and certainly don't delete obvious spam messages. There's one type that I've started seeing more and more of on the 'net; it starts out by agreeing with someone, usually someone who hadn't even posted, then they go into their spiel about how much money they make and how "you can do it too!" Like this:
Lauren . I can see what your saying... Eleanor `s bl0g is incredible... I just got themselves a Fiat Panda after having made $6556 this-past/4 weeks and-in excess of, ten thousand last-month . it's by-far the most rewarding I've had . I began this 9-months ago and immediately began to earn more than $79.. per-hr (link removed)
Here's the latest one that made me SMH:
niceJoshua .I'm in love..... his name is forny, I just lanced a enormous boil and I'm ready to go after that man. I'm making $84 this five weeks past and just over $210 this past 4 months ...... it's by-far the easiest work Ive had and I've found the man of my dreams . (link removed)
What if forny has a boil fetish, whatcha gonna do now?

The Average Would Be Lower
But I bring the mean weight up:
Texas Is Not Obese!! Go Ahead, Eat That Cheese Enchilada!!
I usually am not thrifty with my posts; after all, I don't pay for the electrons or the server space, but this one should include the word of the day:
gormandize\GAWR-muhn-dahyz \ , verb;
1. To eat greedily or ravenously.
That's one of those words we fat people like to use to describe our otherwise piggish eating habits.
I "bumped" up this post because I'm now wondering if since legalizing pot, Colorado still has a low rate of obesity. Y'know, munchies and all that....

It's Because My Soul is Cool
Your Soul Is Connected to the Fall |
You are a somewhat sensitive soul with a tough exterior. You are street smart and wise about the world. You have the heart of a poet, but you're not too eager to let anyone else see it. You are very creative and deeply talented. You are still looking for the perfect outlet for your expression. You embrace change and think the cycles of life are beautiful. You don't shrink away from the darker elements of life. |

"Often used in the plural".
Of course it is; what's the use of doin' a single shenanigan?

My Future
I saw one of those Magic 8-Ball toys the other day in a store; I hadn't seen one in a long time and thought they had been discontinued. On a lark, I picked it up and started asking it questions. "Will I ever find love again?" The answer: "Don't count on it" Well rats. I kept asking questions and kept getting answers I didn't want to see. Surely something good was going to happen to me!
Hopefully, I asked another question and got this:
What has the Microsoft e-mail program have to do with my winning the lottery?

Squidbillies Theme Song
While I've done a few reviews of movies and TV shows, I keep meaning to do more, but to be honest, they take a lot of time and especially if I want them to be truly original and worth reading.
I used to watch Squidbillies when I had cable, then thought the show had been cancelled, so I was surprised to see the newest episodes online. I've been d/l them to watch on my tablet and while it's not as funny now as it was when I first started watching it, it's still good for a grin now 'n then.
My favorite part is the theme song; this one is done by Billy Jo Shaver and is, IMHO, the best of all the renditions. The lyrics match how I feel much of the time these days.
While I'm WAY behind on writing reviews, it's given me an idea for an easier topic/label to start doing: Theme Songs.

The Socks Personality Test
Your Socks Say You're Fascinating |
You Are: - Quite outrageous - Very jolly - A little bit different - An awesome person |
At least it it didn't mention my obsession with them.
I had to pick one, but since they didn't have any white socks, I went with the purple.

I was looking for a specific bit of baseball trivia and a Google search lead me to Sports on Earth, but the link didn't work and I got this instead:

Livin' Thing - ELO
One of my most favorite songs from one of my most favorite groups.
The song begins talking about the exhilaration of falling in love, then the lows that follow the loss of that love. Love truly is a "living thing".

Hobart KA7E Self-Cleaning Rotisserie
If I were rich and had a huge house and kitchen, I'd want one of these. Shoot, I'd even cook up just a couple of chickens in it (or ribs, etc.) because of the self-cleaning feature.

Sharknado 4
Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens is set to open at the end of this month.
I'm thinkin' it's GOTTA be good.
Why do I think that, you ask?
It has Gary Busey in it, that's why.
