Blade Runner CAPTCHA

Earlier today I had to get through one of those usually infuriating CAPTCHA screens in order to view a video. Most of the time they're almost illegible to read, a combination of fuzzy letters and numbers, but those such as these aren't too bad, only having to copy the phrase in order to proceed. I had to laugh at this one because having watched Blade Runner several dozen times, I immediately recognized the dialog.

Here's the scene from the movie; it's all very dramatic, but the CAPTCHA code line is spoken a little past the 2:00 minute mark:

I have never seen a CAPTCHA I have recognised either! I have a hard enough time recognising the letters in it most of the time!

My eyes just can't cope with the things anymore! I have found a cool piece of software called rumola that reads and fills them in for me though. Give it a go at skipinput.com

Ps. Im a new person on the blog! Thinking of a holiday to Texas so was just pottering around looking for Texas blogs :)

The captcha word that got Chester and I really surprised ,maybe shocked even was a few days after his mom passed away , we decided to put an item that belonged to her on a second hand items site , well we got to the captcha bit and what should come up on the screen was his moms maiden surname 'Spry ' we nearly fell off the chair , I mean this has nothing to do with not being able to recognise the word ,but how creepy was that , made us wonder if she was communicating with us from some other dimention ,maybe telling us she didn't approve of us selling her stuff.
Just thought I would share being the suject was captcha.

Thanks f/ the visit,Alicia. Lots of things to see and do in Texas, lots of miles to travel!

Weird story,Alison. Strange coincidence.

I read something about CAPTCHA codes a while back but not sure where I put the link. I expect I can search for it again. The gist is that some of them are research projects; you get two words like "house" and another more esoteric word. It's supposed to be some kind of thing to...well, not for sure if I remember, but it's to chart the use of certain words. I'll have to find something about it.

I wrote about it on another CAPTCHA post, but it's the squiggly lines that bother me on some of them. They'll have slashes in between letters and sometimes it's hard to tell if it's a 3 or an 8 or a O or Q.

Thanks f/ posting, everyone!
