That's Me!

From the Word of the Day feed in the right-hand column:

dilatory \DIL-uh-tor-ee\, adjective:1. Tending to put off what ought to be done at once; given to procrastination.2. Marked by procrastination or delay; intended to cause delay; -- said of actions or measures.

Dilatory is from Latin dilatorius, from dilator, "a dilatory person, a loiterer," from dilatus, past participle of differre, "to delay, to put off," from dis-, "apart, in different directions" + ferre, "to carry."

And to think I almost waited until tomorrow to put this in.

It's a neat word, and the definition definitely suits me to a "T".

"Dilatory" is a funny word, wouldn't you say?

It almost sounds naughty, or even something silly like "Those pickles are so dilatory!" Maybe it's where armadillos live at the zoo.

I remember my first time reading the word "procrastination", and thinking

"I'll look it up tomorrow."

It's really not funny, because it's one of the deadly sins, I'm thinkin'.

I'm not a loiterer, though. I like to keep movin' out in public, move different directions.

No info is useless, Alison. Not to me; I feast upon trivia, love personal details about folks I know.

I post enough of mine, don't I?

Every now 'n then a link gets screwed up G, esp. in the comments section.

Let's see if it will work.

I always have to go look up the code for an embedded link. Supposed to work that way, though.

Wish they had a fancy editor for posts and weren't so limited in what tags we can use.
